Well, I got into dentistry because I always felt I wanted to be a doctor. In school I did a lot of artwork and stuff, and so I thought about being an artist, but then I figured I'd become a dentist and then maybe do art later.
I went to Trinity University and finished it. Got into Dental School before I graduated, actually, and graduated from Dental School in San Antonio in 1981. I was 23 years old. Then I did many years of continuing education, trying to get really good at being a dentist. After that I went to Law School in 2001 and moved here to New Braunfels in 2008.
It was mostly advanced restorative, for people, learning how to teach people to keep their teeth forever and help people keep their teeth forever. Doing the fine restorations that ensure that you've got longevity with your teeth and predictability. That's one of the, couple of the main things as far as I'm concerned.
The most rewarding part is getting to help people everyday. Especially when they want the help, and being around nice people and taking care of people. Having nice people to work with in a pleasant atmosphere.
Our office slogan is providing impeccable care for people. One patient at a time, for longevity and wellness. Keep their teeth forever.
He is a recipient of the Academy of General Dentistry’s Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award, a distinction earned by fewer than 300 dentists in the United States. To earn this award, dentists are required to complete at least 500 hours of continuing education in more than a dozen areas of dentistry. He is a Master in the academy, a designation earned by only about 1,300 of its 40,000 members and the highest distinction members can earn through its continuing education program.
